Education

Al Yonovitz, PhD is a professor and clinical audiologist. Dr Yonovitz is .5 FTE for the CSD Department and .5 FTE for the Phyllis J Washington College of Education and Human Sciences. In his capacity with the College, as the Director of Research Facilitation his task is to assist faculty and students to achieve successful research outcomes. Dr Yonovitz teaches courses in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders including, Fundamentals of Acoustics (221), Speech Science (420), Senior Capstone I and II (430, 440) and graduate seminars and independent research studies. A great number of research papers and posters have been presented by students working in our clinical and research hearing and speech laboratory. These include presentations at professional meetings and conventions and the University of Montana Conference on Undergraduate Research.

Dr Yonovitz is also active in international projects with the University and has been awarded a commendation from the Office of International Programs. Dr Yonovitz provides services to US veterans through a contract with the Veterans Administration. Each year, hundreds of Veterans from this region of our State are seen for hearing assessments, hearing aid prosthetics and follow-up procedures in aural rehabilitation. This service provides a resource for students, a financial basis for the Rite Care Clinic and greatly needed service to these clients.
