Clinic Payment Practices

Mission

  • We believe that every individual should have access to our services, regardless of financial, geographic, or physical barriers.
  • We are a teaching clinic. Services are provided by graduate student clinicians under the supervision of licensed and certified speech-language pathologists.

There are several ways to pay for our services. If your financial situation does not allow you to pay, we may be able to help you.

Self-pay

If you do not have insurance, you can pay at the time of service on a “self-pay fee schedule.” Please note that this rate only applies for payments received at the time of service.

Self-pay fee schedule
Individual Therapy  $65
Group Therapy  $35
Evaluation  $120

Billing Insurance

We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurances and will submit claims for you. You will need to complete paperwork in order for our clinic to bill your insurance. Co-pays should be paid on your appointment day. We will bill you for what insurance does not cover. We are willing to work with you to set up a payment plan. If you have insurance, we need to bill your insurance first before considering the next two options.

Sliding Fee Scale (proof of need based on income)

You may qualify for our sliding fee scale if you have a lower income. The sliding fee scale gives you a certain percentage of discount based on your entire family’s income.

You may need to provide us with your family’s tax return or recent paystubs.

Scholarships (proof of need based on other factors)

You may qualify for a scholarship if you still cannot afford our services after billing insurance and using our sliding fee scale. We must first determine whether you qualify for a sliding fee before a scholarship is considered.

Apply for our Sliding Fee Scale and Scholarships by emailing ritecarereception@umt.edu,  and we can help you fill out the application if you need it. Sliding fee scales and scholarships are supported indirectly by the Western Montana Scottish Rite Foundation; however, masonic affiliation is not required. Stop by our clinic or call 406-243-2405 for assistance.
